Marimekko Bag Olkalaukku Urbaani Black

Designed in 1971, Ristomatti Ratia’s Olkalaukku is an all-time Marimekko classic worn by school children and fashionistas in Finland, Scandinavia, Europe, planet Earth, the Universe and everywhere else where there are people looking for a bloody good bag.

We once had a customer who came into Make to replace her Olkalaukku bag. The black one she had was slightly faded from repeated washing and she wanted a new black one to replace it. This wouldn’t be much of a sales pitch except for the fact that the old bag was purchased in Finland over 30 years previously and she’d used it every day since. Not a stitch was out of place.

The Urbaani version of the Olkalauuku bag incorporates an internal steel zip for added security, and internal zip pocket and two internal open pockets.
