Phoebe Porter is a contemporary jeweller based in Canberra, Australia. Influenced by 20th Century Design philosophies of the Bauhaus and Russian Constructivism, Porter combines industrial materials with traditional handmaking skills developed through formal training in gold and silversmithing. Her occupation with geometric abstraction, bold colour and the balancing of otherwise juxtaposed elements has allowed Phoebe to carve out a distinguished position in the Australian contemporary design landscape. Porter has exhibited work in London, Japan, Germany and Washington. Her work can be found in various public collections including the National Gallery of Australia, the Art Gallery of South Australia and the Powerhouse Museum.
