Blunt was founded by New Zealander Greig Brebner who recognised that umbrella design was fundamentally unchanged in nearly 100 years. Sitting down with kite materials and a glue gun at his kitchen table the first Blunt umbrella came to life. When it survived wind tunnel testing at Force 12 (>117km/h), the maximum setting of the wind tunnel, he got a bit excited. Not only is the Blunt ridiculously strong – it also won’t poke anyone’s eye out.
