
Vico Magistretti (1920-2006) was a renowned Milanese architect and industrial designer. Magistretti studied at the Politecnico di Milano and went on to collaborate with eminent brands like Artemide, Kartell, and Oluce.
Magistretti is celebrated for creating humanist design icons that balanced simplicity with innovation. His Eclisse lamp won the Compasso d’Oro in 1967. Beyond industrial endeavours, Magistretti taught for 20 years at London’s Royal College of Arts, where he was named a royal designer. His work can be found in the permanent collections of MoMa, the V&A Museum and the Triennale Design Museum in Milan.
