Sanna Annukka (1983) is a half English, half Finnish designer and
printmaker currently living in Brighton, England. After studying illustration
at the University of Brighton and selling her screen prints in a London shop,
her work was noticed by the British band Keane and featured on the group’s
album cover. Word quickly spread, and Annukka joined the Marimekko team of
esteemed designers in 2008.
Her work expresses her love of pattern, decoration and mythology so
often found in traditional cultures all over the world, but especially close to
her heart are the Sami people of Lapland. She divides her time between
designing collections for the Finnish textile brand Marimekko, and working on
her own range of silk screen prints and other products.
