 Born in 1932 in Munich, Germany, Richard Sapper studied philosophy, anatomy, graphic design and engineering, and later received a degree in economics. He then joined the design department of Mercedes benz in Stuttgart he moved to Milan where he worked for Gio Ponti and Alberto Rosselli.
Sapper has won the Compasso d'Oro an incredible 10 times along with numerous other awards.
