The company that brought Australia the ceramic tiles on the sails of the Sydney Opera House. When master potter Andersson and master glazer Johansson started manufacturing stoneware in Hoganas almost 100 years ago, they could probably never have guessed that their little company would later grow to become a name well known in places many, many miles from the borders of Sweden. The valuable clay has been taken from the foot of Kullaberg outside Hoganas since the early 19th century. The first vessels and jugs began to be made at around the same time. To begin with, models were kept simple and there were not many of them, but over the years more and more shapes and different glaze colours have come into being. Today, Hoganas Keramik manufactures simple yet beautiful stoneware utensils, varying from centuries-old traditions to modern design. From the Hoganas Keramik website
