Vico Magistretti’s Eclisse lamp masterfully balances form and function, design and utility. It has been an exemplar of Italian design since its inception in 1965.
Its fixed outer shell and moveable inner shell can be adjusted to provide direct or diffuse light. Eclisse’s rotating inner shade “eclipses” the light source, allowing the owner to adjust the intensity of light to their desired effect.
A table lamp, it can also be wall mounted. This black PVD version is coated using an innovative and sustainable process of metal vacuum deposition (“sputtering”).
Eclisse won the Compasso D’Oro in 1967 and can be found in the permanent collections of institutions such as MoMa and the Triennale Design Museum in Milan.
