
Keiji Ashizawa is a renowned Japanese architect and
industrial designer who lives and works in Tokyo. After graduating from the
Yokohama School of Architecture in 1995, Ashizawa spent the first ten years of
his career working as an architect and steel fabricator. His work spans furniture
and lighting to architecture and exhibition design and has been exhibited
internationally since 2001. He formed his own studio Keiji Ahizawa Design, in
2005 focusing on architecture and product design. Keiji is also the founder of
Ishinomaki Laboratory ââ¬â a community DIY workshop he initiated in the wake of
the Great Tohoku Earthquake, where local people can come together and begin to
rebuild.
