Karim Rashid is a
prolific industrial designer whose work covers product design, interiors,
fashion, architecture, furniture, lighting and art. Rashid was born in Cairo,
grew up in Canada and now resides in New
York. He has designed for clients such as Issey Miyake, Alessi, Umbra, Prada and
Sony and won numerous design awards. His work is in the collections of 14
museums worldwide including MoMA and he frequently lectures at universities and
conferences globally. To date he has put some 2500 objects into production.
