When he was a kid, his father curated a show called ââ¬ÅThe Art of
the Personal Objectââ¬Â at the Smithsonian which lay foundation for Brendan
thinking about how and why we use objects.
Brendan studied sculpture, then wooden boat building, and finally
industrial design. When he moved to Los
Angeles in 2010, he was inspired by the network of fabricators still working
there. He set up Brendan Ravenhill
Studio located in Frogtown, LA, specializing in furniture, lighting and product
design. The studio’s designs are
intentionally devoid of ornamentation.
