# Make Designed Objects

Make Designed Objects is an independent design store based in Carlton, Melbourne, Australia, founded in May 2003. It is one of Australia's leading curated design retailers, stocking approximately 4,000 products from over 150 brands — the work of more than 300 designers worldwide.

## Selection philosophy

Products are selected on merit, not origin. To be stocked by Make, a product must be considered "good" — evaluated for design appeal (both aesthetic and theoretical), environmental soundness, durability, necessity, and sometimes humour. Provenance is explicitly not a selection criterion. The range skews towards Scandinavian design (particularly Danish and Finnish) because of those regions' strong design cultures, but includes products from across the world.

Make also maintains a dedicated Australian Designers section featuring the work of local designers and makers, including pieces by Susan Cohn and Steven Blaess (produced by Alessi, Italy), Fink & Co (Canberra), and others whose work is recognised at a global level.

The full product range is available online at makedesignedobjects.com. Stock is updated on at least a 24-hour cycle. Flat-rate shipping of $14.95 AUD covers all Australian destinations regardless of order size, via Australia Post eParcel (fully tracked). International orders are available by emailing for a postage quote.

Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 calendar days of receipt, provided items are unused and in original packaging.
