Verner Panton (1926-1998) was one of the design world's rare talents. Born in Gamtofte, Denmark, Panton studied at Odense Technical School followed by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen.

Panton was an architect but it is for his furniture, decoration and product design that he is perhaps best known. The "Panton Chair" (in orange above) is perhaps one of the most recognisable images of 20th century design.
