Founded in 1985 by Adrian Olabuenaga and Lesley Bailey, ACME Studios began with a limited edition run of jewellery from Peter Shire of the Memphis Group. Other collections followed including "Architects for ACME" (curated by Phillip Johnson), "Artists for ACME" (curated by Billy Al Bengston) and "Alchimia for ACME" (curated by Alessandro Mendini). The bulk of the ACME Studios collection is now made up of licensed designs by many of the world's best known designers and architects.
